Diasporans for PDP Endorses Atiku for President, Schedules Campaign Event for December 3, 2022

The US-based registered non-governmental organization made up of members and lovers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) living abroad, Diasporans for PDP, has issued an unwavering endorsement of His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The endorsement was made during an event titled PDP Diaspora Summit, which was held at the Hilton Houston Westchase, 9999 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas, USA on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to all our members across the world, members of the Peoples Democratic Party, and our party leadership who have stood strongly in support of our organization since 2018, especially during those moments of major challenges. We are so grateful to all of you!,” said the Founder and National Chair of Diasporans for PDP Honourable Mrs. Victoria Pamugo (Princess).

“The Diaspora Summit provided an opportunity for our organization to officially endorse His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for Vice-President,” Hon. Pamugo said.

“It was an opportunity for our party to talk directly to the international community of Nigerians living in diaspora about the type of change to expect when PDP returns to power. An opportunity for our organization to officially launch the 2023 campaign in diaspora. Now, we are all preparing to return to Nigeria for various grassroot operations to help PDP and its candidates win at all levels,” she said.

Speaking directly to the PDP flag-bearer, represented by His Excellency, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Executive Governor of Sokoto State and DG, PDP 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, and Senator Dino Melaye, Spokesperson, PDP 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, who joined virtually from Washington DC, Hon. Pamugo said:

“His Excellencies, this endorsement also means an unwavering endorsement of your five-point agenda. In this election, Diasporans for PDP will support you and the party that nominated you. We will work with you and for you to achieve the following goals for Nigeria:

    • To restore Nigeria's unity through equity, social justice and cooperation.
    • To establish a strong and effective government that guarantees the safety and security of life and property.
    • To build a strong, resilient and prosperous economy.
    • To promote a true federal system which will guarantee national unity and allow the federating units to set their own priorities.
    • To spearhead educational reforms through innovation, science and technology.”

Diasporans for PDP has scheduled their next virtual campaign event for December 3, 2022. The event will bring together party leaders, political strategists, and members of the organization to discuss strategies for grassroot campaign operations, civic outreach, door knocking and get out the vote, as Nigerians in diaspora prepare to return home for the 2023 elections.
