PDP in Diaspora Mourns Party’s National Woman Leader, Professor Stella Effah-Attoe

The US-based organization of members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in diaspora, Diasporans for PDP, has expressed grief and sadness over the death of the party’s National Woman Leader, Professor Stella Effah-Attoe.

In a press statement from the Houston office, on behalf of the entire membership, the Founder and National Chair Honourable Mrs. Victoria Pamugo expressed shock and devastation over the news of the death of our beloved sister who died on Sunday, October 29th, 2023, after an illness.

“Professor Effah-Attoe was a strong and dedicated member of our PDP family. The PDP family in diaspora is saddened by the demise of our dear sister, a lover of country and a warrior for women and youth,” said the Founder and National Chair Honourable Mrs. Victoria Pamugo.

“She was such a calm person and yet indomitable in character. She was a consistent politician and added so much value to the efforts to gain prominence for women in leadership. She skilfully managed political crises, especially in her home state, Cross River. Professor Effah-Attoe was humble and respectful and was also respected for her demeanour,” Honourable Pamugo said.

“Having known her for a long time in PDP, she became a leader and a sister. Her position as the National Woman Leader offered her the opportunity to relate with women politicians closely and prove that there was strength in her gentility.”

“It is rare to successfully combine academics and politics. Against all odds Professor Effah-Attoe successfully performed the feat. My heart goes out to her family. Adieu Prof! May the good Lord rest your soul!” Honourable Pamugo lamented.

Professor Effah-Attoe is a well-known figure within the PDP diaspora community and a consistent feature on the Diasporans for PDP events, including the Civic Engagement Series, where she has spoken on a number of occasions.

As the National Woman Leader, Professor Effah-Attoe was a strong believer in the vision for diaspora support and participation in national politics and was never shy to publicly express her support for Diasporans for PDP: https://diasporansforpdp.com/images/pdf/Commendation-Letter.pdf.

“This is an irreparable loss to our organization,” Honourable Pamugo lamented.
