    ABOUT

    Diasporans for PDP has its members in various countries of the world, including Austria, Canada, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States of America. With our head office in Houston, Texas, USA, and chapters in various states and countries, we are a non-profit organization legally registered in the United States of America. Diasporans for PDP is here to mobilize and galvanize support for the People's Democratic Party. We believe in good governance evident by delivery of dividends of democracy, honesty, transparency and accountability.

    WHAT WE DO

    We are a hands-on organization that takes concrete actions to bring PDP back to power and influence its mandate and policy decisions to reduce suffering, create jobs and make Nigeria a better place to live, go to school, work and do business. Diasporans for PDP was formed to pursue the following missions and objectives:

    • To take concrete actions to achieve social, economic, civic and political transformation in Nigeria.
    • To champion, support, promote and pursue principles that will encourage Nigerians in diaspora to actively participate in civic, social, economic and political development of Nigeria.
    • To educate, sensitize and inform Nigerians in diaspora on the need of getting involved in programs, projects and activities that will improve the standard of living and means of livelihood of Nigerians.
    • To organize and take concrete actions to ensure that only officials that will replicate what we all enjoy in the United States and other advanced economies in the form of dividends of democracy are elected into positions of authority.
    • To educate the Nigerian people of their civic responsibilities, such as participating in the electoral process by registering for PVCs and casting their votes to elect their own leaders.
    • To be the voice for the voiceless by promoting social advocacy, expanding educational and literacy opportunities and supplies to all Nigerians, especially the less privileged.
    • To hold our leaders accountable; organize workshops aimed at educating and encouraging Nigerians to vote for political candidates that will deliver on their campaign promises.
    • To promote good citizenship and patriotism.
    • To promote issues concerning women, children and youth in Nigeria and other countries where issues concerning them are relegated to the background.
    • To establish strategic partnerships with other organizations, governments and parastatals that will be beneficial in achieving our mandate, mission and vision.
    • To solicit and raise funds to help in achieving our objectives and in the furtherance of our mission.

    HOW WE RUN THINGS

    As a non profit organization, Diasporans for PDP is managed by key officers at the national level, including the National Chair, the National Secretary, the National Financial Secretary, the National Treasurer, the National Organizing Secretary, the National Publicity Secretary, the National Women Leader and the National Youth Leader. As we have chapters in various countries, states and cities across the world, each country or state chapter is led by a Country, State or City Coordinator.     • Are you already a card-bearing member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP)? Diasporans for PDP members are members of the PDP and you need to obtain your PDP membership card. To become a card-bearing member, contact the PDP Ward Chairman of your local government of origin and register with them to obtain your PDP membership card.

    Mission and Purposes

    1. TO PROMOTE CIVIC AND SOCIAL WELFARE.
    2. TO PROMOTE SOCIAL ADVOCACY.
    3. TO PROMOTE OBJECTIVE PLACE OF LEARNING AND LITERACY.
    4. TO PROMOTE PATRIOTISM.
    5. TO PROMOTE ISSUES CONCERNING WOMEN, CHILDREN AND YOUTH; WOMEN AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT.

    (a) To hold meetings and to take commensurate actions aimed in the United States, Nigeria and other countries at achieving social, economic, civic and political transformations in Nigeria and other African countries.

    (b) To champion, support, promote and pursue principles that will encourage Nigerians in the diaspora to actively participate in activities including but not limited to civic, social, economic and political within and in governance of and any legally established jurisdictions within Nigeria and other African countries.

    (c) To educate, sensitize and inform Nigerians in the diaspora on the need of getting involved in programs, projects and activities that will improve the standard of living and means of livelihood of Nigerians and other African countries by making sure that only officials that will replicate what we all enjoy in the United States and other advanced economies in the form of dividends of democracy, are elected into positions of authority.

    (d) To educate people of their civic responsibilities, such as participating in the electoral process by registering for PVC’s and casting their votes to elect their leaders.

    (e) To promote objective education, learning and literacy among the less privileged by providing educational supplies, non-perishable meals, etc.

    (f) To be the voice for the voiceless by promoting social advocacy.

    (g) To participate in any campaign aimed at encouraging Nigerians and other diasporans to vote for political candidates seeking political offices that will deliver on their promises for their citizens by promoting patriotism.

    (h)To solicit and to raise funds to help in achieving its objectives and activities in the furtherance of its mission.

    This Organization will promote issues concerning women, children and youth in the society and countries where issues concerning them are relegated to the background. Attention will be given to issues such as abuse, marginalization, discrimination, etc.

    PDI will work with any entity that believes in, and is also committed to the mission of this Organization.
